Below are some commonly asked questions and information about our conformation shows.
- Is this show only for dogs in the hound group?
No. This show is open to all breeds but your dog must be registered with UKC - either with a temporary or permanent listing - to compete.
- I'm new to dog shows. How do I register my dog with UKC?
You can either permanently register your dog, or if you are unsure of the documentation needed, or short on time, you can start with a temporary listing, which is a much faster process.
Temporary listings can be obtained in 10 minutes by clicking here
There is more information about temporary listings at the link. Remember that all points earned under a TL will transfer once you have a permanent listing.
Permanent registration, which can take a few weeks, can be done here.
- My dog has been spayed/neutered. Can they still participate?
Absolutely! UKC has a program for altered dogs to show in conformation events and earn titles.
- I've never done this before. Will there be people there to point me in the right direction?
UKC shows are a friendly and stress free way to get into the sport of conformation. If you have specific questions about showing your dog, feel free to contact the club by clicking here.
- Where can I sign up my dog for this show? How many shows are there?
There are two shows on Saturday and Sunday open to all dogs and one show on Friday open to all dogs. On Friday, there is also a Greyhound Specialty, open only to Greyhounds, and The National Altered Dog Invitational, which is a by invitation only event. To sign up for all of these shows, you simply go to our registration partner EagerDog and select all options that apply to you. You can pay directly on their portal.
